Founded in February 2023, Hearts of Love Cat Rescue & Adoption is a community-centered, volunteer-powered organization located in Patchogue, New York. We are united by a deep commitment to giving homeless and abandoned cats a second chance at life. In just a short time, we’ve made a significant impact by rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming cats across Long Island.

A Mission Rooted in Compassion

Our mission is simple yet vital: to provide a safe, nurturing environment for cats in need and connect them with responsible, loving families. Hearts of Love was born out of a shared passion among local cat advocates who wanted to address the growing number of vulnerable felines in our community. What began as a grassroots effort has become a trusted name in feline rescue in Suffolk County and beyond.

Supporting Cats and the Community

While our primary focus is on adoption, our role goes far deeper. We collaborate with:


Local municipal shelters that are overwhelmed and under-resourced

  • Independent rescuers who need placement support

  • Families facing personal hardships and in need of temporary shelter for their pets

Every cat that enters our care receives a fresh start and the individualized attention they need to thrive.

Medical & Emotional Support for Every Cat

Cats at Hearts of Love are:


  • Spayed or neutered

  • Vaccinated

  • Tested for FeLV/FIV

  • Microchipped

  • Monitored with continued medical care

But our care doesn’t stop once the adoption is complete. We offer post-adoption support to help new cat parents adjust, answer behavioral questions, and recommend appropriate diets and routines.

Our Adoption Philosophy

We believe adoption should be a thoughtful, lifelong commitment. That’s why our process includes:


  • A secure online or in-person application

  • Vet and landlord verification when applicable

  • Personal references to ensure a responsible match

Our adoption fee of $175 helps cover the comprehensive medical care and resources each cat receives before going to their new home.
